The EPA Registers 10 Pesticides for Hemp Production
 
Hemp producers have new protection tools for their hemp crop. The EPA has added hemp to the use site of 10 pesticides (9 are bio-pesticides and 1 is conventional). Click here for a list of currently registered pesticide products.
 
Since 2019 was a difficult year for many new hemp producers, the addition of more hemp protection aids will likely be met with relief. However, if you’re growing CBD hemp and plan to use a registered pesticide, it’s critical that you talk with your extractor first. All hemp extractors have biomass specifications and testing requirements for acceptable hemp (which may differ among extractors). It’s better to make sure that your chosen pesticide is allowable by the extractor as well.
